TECHNICAL RESOURCE / ENGINEERING REVIEW

Part-number interchange starts with the specification.

A similar-looking fitting is not necessarily interchangeable. Use this free worksheet to assemble the information needed for a documented, model-specific comparison.

BEFORE COMPARING PART NUMBERS

What an engineer needs to verify

Enter the original and proposed manufacturer part numbers in the worksheet. The blank download contains no approved equivalents: request our documentation for each exact combination before specifying or substituting any component.

01 / GEOMETRY

Tube & connection

Record actual tube outside diameter (fractional inch or metric), wall thickness, thread standard, end configuration and installation instructions. Nominal sizes alone are not enough.

02 / SERVICE

Pressure & medium

Share design pressure and temperature, media, and any project ASME/ANSI class requirement. Obtain a rating for the exact proposed model; a class label does not establish equivalence.

03 / MATERIALS

Wetted parts

Confirm material grade and traceability. If NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 applies to sour service, request evidence for the precise wetted components and service conditions.

04 / EVIDENCE

Scope of testing

Compare drawings, certificates and test conditions, not appearance alone. Published family information does not establish interchangeability for every size or application.

REQUEST A DOCUMENTED REVIEW

Have a part number to compare?

Email both part numbers, a drawing and operating conditions to exports@arcellorcontrols.com. Sending an email is required; downloading the worksheet does not submit an inquiry. Ask for current certificates and tested scope before using any proposed substitution.
